Rajbari District, Raja Surajoprashed Sen was ruler

Rajbari district is in the Dhaka division of central Bangladesh. Renowned Raja Surajoprashed Sen was ruler in here. Name of this district was set from the named of him. Basically, he was established Rajbari district. Before it was a part of Faridpur district. The next time, it was separated from Faridpur and then it was established as a district. It was established on 1st March 1984. It has an area of 1118.8 sq km. Pabna district on the north, Faridpur and Magura district on the south, Manikganj district on the east, Kushtia and Jhenaidah district on the west. The Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Christians are lived in here. Besides, other ethnic nations are also lived. But Mir Mosharraf Hossain lived at Podamdi near village of Kurshi in Baliakandi upzila under Rajbari district. He was a famous writer of Bangladesh.
Few local daily and weekly newspapers are published in Rajbari they are Daily Matrikantha, Daily Jonotar Adalot, Weekly Shahoshi Shomoy, Weekly Rajbari Songbad, Weekly Rajbari Kantha, Weekly Onushandhan and Weekly Rajbari Khobor.

Commerce, job, transport, fishing, agriculture, agricultural laborer, wage laborer, service, hawker, fishing and others are main occupations of this district. Agriculture is main occupation. Main crops are paddy, jute, sugarcane, turmeric, ground nut, oil seeds, pulses etc. Mango, guava, custard apple, tamarind, grapefruit, jackfruit, papaya, pineapple, banana, litchi, date and palm are main cultivated fruits in this district. Among them of main exports are paddy and jute. Some rivers are flowed through of this district as Padma, Jalang, Kumar, Garai, Madhumati, Harai and Chandana.

This district is place of natural beauty. Mir Mosharraf Hossain memorial centre, Jod Bangla mondir and Shah Paloaner Mazar are tourist spots in this district. Additionally, Podamdi and Kurshi are also a remarkable place for Nawabs. Kallyan Dighi is very beautiful place. For this, every moment tourists are come to look at.
